Chocolate & Coffee Farm Experience

Description: Get the most out of your visit to Colombia with this two-in-one combo farm tour! Share with real coffee and cocoa farmers as you pick, peel, grind, roast and taste the product of your own labor. This is a hands-on experience spending your day at real, small family farms. This tour does not take you to large commercial plantations but rather to small crops owned by real farming families. We also guarantee red coffee beans and mature cacao pods for picking year round.

Availability: This tour is available every day of the year except December 25th and January the 1st. We ask that during the months of July and August you email us or whatsApp us to verify availability before making your purchase ;)

Difficulty: The farms are accesible to everyone on foot and partially by wheelchair. The country roads are uneven, unpaved and bumpy.

Accessibility: This tour is for ages 6 to 75. It is also available should you have limited mobility or a visual/hearing impairment.

Duration: This tour departs early in the morning from Bogotá and lasts 12 to 13 hours from start to finish with 6 hours spent at points of interest.

Departure: This tour departs from our meeting point at The Bogotá Marriot Hotel (Av. El Dorado #69 B-53) by the round-about. We offer door to door pick-up & drop-off at an extra cost (excluding Usaquen area)

Location: This tour takes you to the coffee & cacao lands surrounding Bogotá in the nearby towns of Silvania, Tibacuy and Nilo. The coffee farm is located about 2.5 hours from our departure point in Bogotá and the cocoa farm is 1 hour further.

Elevation: The coffee farm sits at 1800 m.a.s.l while the cocoa farm is found at 1000 m.a.s.l. along the steep hills of the Andes mountains. Amazing views await!

Weather: Sunny days with average temperatures of 24ºC - 28ºC. We experience rain less than 10% of the time.

Includes: Private AWD transport from Bogotá, a vegetarian local vegetarian lunch, Spanish-speaking guide, coffee/cacao sample tasting, entrances to all the farms.
