Description: Ride your horse around the San Rafael dam up into the high Andes mountains of La Calera. Enjoy a fun ride with spectacular views and lush sub-páramo forest vegetation. Location: La Calera is a town located about 1.5 hours from Bogotá across the eastern Andes mountains. Elevation: Maximum altitude on the trail is 2800 m.a.s.l. Weather: The average temperature in La Calera is similar to Bogotá's (about 15ºC). We experience light rain 20% of the time and heavy rain about 10% of the time. We suggest wearing long pants and a rain jacket. Wettest months are Abril-May and October-November. Chingaza Siecha Lakes Trek U$120
Description: The breathtaking andean lagoons that make up Chingaza Siecha Lakes will allow you to experience a high altittude ecosystem (3800 m.a.s.l.) filled with unique landscapes and flora. A visit to Chingaza National Park will make you feel like you have stepped onto another planet. Availability: During the month of June, July and August trails tend to sell out completely. It is required that you be in good physical condition due to the low air pressure present above 3000 m.a.s.l. The trails are uneven, steep and muddy most of the time. The elevation gain for this trek is about 400 meters, starting at 3400 m.a.s.l. and reaching 3800 m.a.s.l. Each hour you spend hiking at high altitudes is the equivalent effort of two hours at sea level. Note: If you are interested in visiting the Páramos but aren't much of a hiker, we also offer a car-based Chingaza Páramo Adventure. Sumapaz Mountaintop Páramo Trek U$85
Description: Experience this high-altitude ecosystem at 3800 meters of altitude filled with unique fauna and flora found nowhere else outside the Andes. A visit to a private reserve in the Páramo of Sumapaz will make you feel like you have stepped onto another planet. It is required that you be in good physical condition due to the low air pressure present above 3500 m.a.s.l. The trails are uneven, steep and muddy most of the time. The elevation gain for this trek is about 400 mts, starting at 3400 meters. Keep in mind that each hour you spend hiking at high altitudes is the equivalent effort of two hours at sea level. Note: If you are interested in visiting the Páramos but aren't much of a hiker, we also offer a car-based Chingaza Páramo Adventure. Accessibility: Anybody between the ages of 12 to 70 years-old can join. We are happy to arrange a customized hike should you have a visual or hearing impairment. Description: Experience the century-old artisanal way of harvesting coffee beans while visiting a real small family farm. This is a hands-on experience where you will pick, grind and roast your own coffe beans and get to taste some of the smoothest coffee in the world! Duration: The tour lasts 8 hours from start to finish with 4 hours spent in the coffee farms and at points of interest. Location: This tour takes you to the coffee lands surrounding Bogotá in the nearby town of Silvania. The coffee farm is located about 2 hours from our departure point.
