Andes Mountains Horseback Riding
Description: Ride your horse up into the high Andes mountains of La Calera around the San Rafael dam. Enjoy a funand safe ride with spectacular views, green fields and lush andean (sub-páramo) forest vegetation. Note: This is a group activity and you MAY be joined by other travelers at any point during the tour. Everyone on this tour MUST wear a helmet in order to be on the horse and keep it on at all times. Failure to wear a helmet is a safety violation and will cause the cancellation of the tour without refunds. Availability: This tour is available every day of the year except December 25th and January the 1st. We ask however, that during the months of July and August you email us or whatsApp us to verify availability before making your purchase ;) Difficulty: This trail, suitable for all levels of experience, takes 2 hours to complete along dirt roads and cobblestone pathways that go up the mountains through a majestic Andean forest and open green fields. During rainy season you can also visit a small water spring. Note: Riding times are calculated at a horse's walking speed. Trotting with your horse will cut the riding time. Only one person is allowed per horse. Duration: The total tour time is about 5 to 6 hours total with 2 hours of horseback riding. Departure: This tour departs from our meeting point at Parque 93. We also offer door to door pick-up & drop-off at an extra cost. Most pick-ups are scheduled before 9.00am. Accessibility: Anybody between the ages of 6 to 75 years-old can join. Location: La Calera is a town located about 1 hour from our meeting point in Bogotá across the eastern Andes mountains. Elevation: Maximum altitude on this tour is 2900 m.a.s.l. Weather: The average temperature in La Calera is about 15 ºC. We experience light rain 30% of the time and heavy rain 10% of the time. We suggest wearing long pants, thick socks and a warm sweater or jacket. The wettest months are Abril-May and October-November. The driest months are January through March. Birds & Beans Traditional Coffee Tour
Description: Experience the century-old artisanal way of harvesting coffee beans while visiting a real small family farm. This is a hands-on experience where you will pick, grind and roast your own beans and get to taste some of the smoothest coffee in the world! This tour guarantees red beans for picking year-round and it is hosted at a local family farm, not a large commercial coffee plantation. With over 200 recorded species, this forest reserve and adjacent shade-grown coffee plantations offer abundant birdlife that is easy to spot with the naked eye, making it a prime site for nature photography. Note: We began this tour back in 2013 when few people even knew that coffee plants were harvested around Bogotá. We are the first coffe tour in the region. Don't miss out! Duration: The tour usully lasts 10 hours from start to finish with about 4 hours spent in the coffee farms and at various points of interest. Departure: This tour departs from our meeting point at the Bogotá Marriot Hotel (Av. El Dorado #69 B-53). We offer pick-up & drop-off at an extra cost. Note: Minors under 3 that are held by an adult in the vehicle do not have to pay but you MUST let us know ahead of time. Location: This tour takes you to the coffee lands surrounding Bogotá in the nearby coffee town of Silvania and Tibacuy. The coffee farm is located about 2.5 hours from our meeting point in Bogotá. Elevation: The coffee farm sits at 1700 m.a.s.l. Weather: The average temperature in the coffee lands is 24ºC. We experience light rain about 30% of the time and heavy rain 10% of the time. Chicaque Cloud Forest Birding & Birdwatching
Description: Pay a visit to one of the most iconic and lush cloud forests around Bogotá with an expert bird guide that will help you identify about 40 bird species including colorful tanagers, hummingbirds, warblers, flycatchers, raptors and toucanets. However, a good ammount of birdwatching can be done with minimal movement on short walks. Accessibility: This tour is for 9 to 79 year-olds. Duration: The total tour time is 8 hours from start to finish with up to 3 hours of birdwatching time. Additional hours can be added at an extra cost. Chicaque Cloud Forest Hike

Chingaza Siecha & Cuchillas Lakes Trek
Description: The breathtaking andean lagoons that make up Chingaza Siecha Lakes will allow you to experience a high altittude ecosystem (3800 m.a.s.l.) filled with unique landscapes and flora. A visit to Chingaza National Park will make you feel like you have stepped onto another planet. Note: This is a group activity and you MAY be joined by other travelers at any point during the day. You should have proper clothing that can sustain cold wind and rain. We have rain boots available for rent. The Park does not allow plastics in. Availability: Availability: This tour is available every day of the year except December 25th and January the 1st. Because of limited trail availability, please contact us before payment if your reservation is within 3 days of travel! Difficulty: This trek is of high difficulty. It is required that you be in good physical condition due to the low air pressure present above 3000 m.a.s.l. The trails are uneven, steep and muddy at times. The elevation gain for this trek is about 400 meters, starting at 3400 m.a.s.l. and reaching 3800 m.a.s.l. Each hour you spend hiking at high altitudes is the equivalent effort of two hours at sea level. Note: If you are interested in visiting the Páramos but aren't much of a hiker, we offer a car-based Chingaza Wildlife Páramo Adventure. Ask us for details! Duration: The tour time is about 10 hours total with 4 to 5 hours of hiking time. The speed of the hike mostly depends on weather conditions. People under 74 year-old are able to join if they are regular mountain hikers. Location: Chingaza National Park is located to the North East of Bogotá approximately 2.5 hours from our meeting point. Weather: The average temperature in the páramo is 10ºC, but it can drop down to 5ºC rapidly depending on cloud cover. You could also experience strong sun with temperatures around 18ºC. The weather on the mountaintop is unpredictable. You must be prepared for cold temperatures, wind and rain any month of the year. Chingaza Wildlife Páramo Adventure
Description: Experience the uniqueness of the páramo ecosystem by vehicle and on foot. Visit mountain passages over 3800 m.a.s.l. and descend down to a lush cloud forest while looking for wildlife, waterfalls, lagoons and out-of-this-world landscapes. Chingaza is an environmental conservation success. In under 50 years it went from an open mine pit to becoming the main site for finding the spectacle bear (Tremarctos ornatus) in the Andes mountains! Chocolate & Coffee Farm Experience

La Chorrera Cloud Forest & Waterfall Hike
Description: Journey with us through green mountain trails at 2600 m.a.s.l. as we discover a land filled with waterfalls, orchids and native medicinal plants. Make your way up to La Chorrera, one of the tallest waterfalls in the Andes mountains at 590 meters high! Availability: This tour is available every day of the year except December 25th and January the 1st. We ask that during the months of July and August you contact ut us to verify availability before making your purchase ;) Difficulty: This trail is of low to mid difficulty with some steep, uneven and slippery surfaces so hiking boots or confortable shoes are recommended. Maza Fonte Andes Mountain Trek
Description: In this private Nature Reserve within the Chingaza National Park buffer zone (but not inside the Park itself) you will find the most preserved and pristine forest in the region at 2800 m.a.s.l. Keep an eye for fresh andean bear foot prints, their feeding grounds, stunning orquids and endemic Frailejon plants found nowhere else! It is required that you be in good physical condition due to the low air pressure present above 3000 m.a.s.l. The trails are uneven, steep and muddy most of the time. The elevation gain for this trek is about 400 meters, starting at 2600 m.a.s.l. and reaching 3000 m.a.s.l. Keep in mind that each hour you spend hiking at high altitudes is the equivalent effort of two hours at sea level. Note: If you are interested in visiting the Páramos but aren't much of a hiker, we also offer a car-based Chingaza Páramo Adventure. Weather: The average temperature is between 10ºC and 16ºC. The weather on the mountaintop is unpredictable, you must be prepared for cold temperatures, wind and rain. We have rain boots in most sizes, scarfs and warm hats that you can borrow from us if you let us know at least 48 hours before the tour starts.
